30 years in Ohio energy · Based in Jackson Center, Ohio
Hey, thanks for visiting! We’re local, and we’ve been part of our Ohio communities for a long time. For you and for us, it’s all about giving you the best possible service.
U.S. Energy Sales 🇺🇸 provides natural gas and electric procurement and servicing for Ohio businesses, schools, churches, and farms, right here in our local communities, and we’ve been doing it for the past 30 years.
One of the perks of our business accounts is a dedicated person who has the ability to work with you any business day as needed. They’re part of your team, handling everything service-related from start to finish. Call, text or FaceTime them anytime, or they’ll stop by in person.
What makes us different
In this business, it’s usually a one-time deal with a salesperson. You sign at contract time, and you don’t hear from them again until the contract’s up. Think about it. If you hired someone to do a job, and they showed up on day one and didn’t show up again for one to three years, until it was time to renew, would you have hired them? No. But that’s how most people’s energy deals work. You sign with a supplier rep, hear from them once, and not again until renewal. But what about everything in between? A major issue you need the utility for. Billing problems. All kinds of things. “Hey, I got a call today. Can you take care of it for me?” Most of you don’t have anybody to service your account after the initial setup. We’re a servicer. That’s what makes us different.
Most companies stop at the sale. Our commercial natural gas and electricity sales and servicing keeps working after you sign, saving you time and money, and that makes you more profitable.
Full transparency, always. You’ll see exactly what we see, and we’ll walk you through, in plain English, anything that pertains to you, your company, your school, your church or your farm.
Take a look below for what’s happening right now: whether winter natural gas prices are headed through the roof, what’s going on with electricity, and what to do when a supplier or broker calls you, or when a notice or an opt-out letter shows up in your mail. You’ll also find short videos on how to build safeguards into your energy contract. Don’t assume they’re already in there, because for most people they aren’t. Whatever your gas or electric question is, there’s video below you may never have seen before. It covers what we see every day, and for most business customers it’s the first time anyone has walked them through it.

Contracts can renew without anyone noticing. Three quick checks: find your contract end date, read what happens when the term ends (and how much notice you get), and know what an aggregation letter is.
Some Ohio communities buy power as a group. Eligible smaller accounts get a letter and are enrolled unless they opt out by the deadline. It’s not good or bad, just worth reading in time. Rules differ for larger accounts.

Apples-to-apples can feel like a good price — until it doesn’t
Many people, when they shop apples-to-apples for energy offers, think that’s a pretty good price. Without watching markets and structure, it’s a lot like rolling the dice — gambling on a snapshot.
Working with us is different. We work directly with the sources for commercial power and natural gas. Fewer layers between your business and the sources. Results are different for each business's usage profile. You still decide.

The Gas Trap
Big natural gas user? Most contracts give you a usage band, usually 0 to 10 percent. Go over it in a cold month and the extra gets billed way above your close. A lot of people don’t know how this really works.
Example shown is an illustration. Want us to check your bandwidth? Text a photo of your bill to 937-421-8100.
Transcript: The Gas Trap
If your business burns a lot of natural gas, this might be the most important two minutes you spend this year. Behind the scenes, a supplier prices your deal off your last 12 months of utility usage. Your daily average, your peaks, your valleys. Flat all year, scattered, or a big winter spike. Then they offer you a band, usually zero to ten percent, priced for one to five years, fixed or floating basis. Here's what people don't ask: "It's a three-year deal. My winters spike. What happens when I blow past that band?" You get cashed in or cashed out, and the swing gets charged way above your close. We see it all the time. Say your natural gas closed at $2.99. You go a thousand dekatherms over in a cold month, and that volume gets billed at seven dollars. That's about four thousand dollars extra, in one month. A lot of companies think that's normal. It's not. It's your money. Couldn't you use it somewhere else? So why not full bandwidth, a hundred percent, also called full requirements? Most businesses never get offered it. It's not what most deals are built around, so you don't know to ask, until it's too late. With us, there are fewer layers. It's you and the producer, and they do the heavy lifting. Producers you'd recognize. Most reps set up the deal and disappear until renewal. If you hired someone who showed up on day one and vanished for a year, would you keep them? No. We're in it every day. Someone on your side you can call when a letter shows up. It's part of the deal, a perk of working with us. Our producer relationships give us production outlooks, storage and injection numbers, and the daily swings, so we can catch favorable futures for you. Natural gas drives power, manufacturing, and heating across Ohio and the Midwest. Somebody has to watch it every day. Most businesses can't. That's how you save money, and make money. U. S. Energy Sales can check your bandwidth. Send us your bill.

Natural gas now drives U.S. power generation
Natural gas has become the biggest driver of fuel for power generation in the country. That matters for Ohio businesses and farms — natural gas markets quietly shape a big slice of power costs.

We have offices all throughout the country. Hey — we’re local. We’re located in the west-central part of the industrial base. Send your current energy contract
Also send a copy of your current energy contract, the same way: text a photo of each page or email it.
Why the contract? It shows the exact date a new contract could start, and it catches auto-renewal clauses. Some businesses think they're out of contract but were renewed automatically. It also has the details we need for a full analysis.
Reviewing your contract is part of our first look at your account. It tells us the earliest date new service can start.
For example, if your contract ends nine months from now, we can line up offers for that start date. Or, depending on where the market is, we can recommend waiting: we watch prices against a target you agree to and move if the market reaches it. Either way, we talk it through with you first.
Comprehensive review
We look at structure and timing — things you might not have thought about. No price promises.
Offers, side by side, and your decision
We narrow it to the strongest offers, typically five or six, with terms that can run from short term up to five years.
We show you the pricing and terms side by side.
We recommend the option that fits your business, and we tell you up front how we're paid.
We send you an explainer video and set up a second conversation so you can make an informed decision.
Not required to talk. Send a photo or PDF of each page of your company natural gas or electric bill. We’ll do a comprehensive review and show you things you never thought about — or that anybody else has shown you. A deeper look at structure and timing. Results are different for each business's usage profile. Commercial accounts.
Sending your bill takes four steps
Gather every page of your natural gas and electric bills, plus your current energy contract, if you have one.

Why we ask for every page
Send every page. We go over your bill with you line by line, including what you can’t see in the tariff. Each customer class has a set delivery rate, so we can check each charge against your rate class, your utility's tariff and your contract, look for billing mistakes, and send you a written summary.
